12. The secret life of girls – that play (actually) written about me

I had a play written about my time in grade school. Linda Daugherty is an old friend of my mother’s and my brother’s current business partner for putting on musicals at the DCT. I was bullied horribly in grade school and that is why it took so long to diagnose me with bipolar disorder: my parents just thought I was depressed because of my experiences. I regret letting her interview me because I hated watching my life be put on stage. My friends don’t know anything about it because it would just be a bummer to talk about. However, the message is a good one. Girls can be horrible and are the worst. If teachers don’t start early with group meetings and don’t let anyone pick teams or don’t reach out to those who are being bullied, then it will continue. My worst memory is when a girl, Sarah Yanes, came up and kicked me in the crotch to “test if I was a boy”. It wasn’t her idea, my gym teacher saw everything and did nothing.

below is the info about the play
