Dumbledore Fails:
- How is it possible Hermione was the only one who figured out the monster in the chamber of secrets was a Basilisk? She was 12. How many monsters can petrify people, make spiders crawl out the windows, associated with Slytherin’s founder, and can live for hundreds of years? Myrtle was killed: didn’t they have her body to look at? Couldn’t they tell she was killed with no marks on her body? They had her ghost for heaven’s sake, the yellow eyes should have tipped someone off. If not dumbledore, at least the care of magical creatures professor. Pathetic. Fantastic beasts and where to find them was a common book. All they had to do was read it. AND AND AND dumbledore could speak paseltounge evidenced by the memory with marvolo gaunt in 6 because he knew what they were saying. Couldn’t he hear the creepy ass voice saying “kill, blood” around the hallway? Hagrid shouldnt have been expelled, a giant spider doesn’t petrify people. It kills them with pinchers.
- Why make harry learn occlumency if he thought harry was a horocrux? You can’t block your thoughts when the person’s soul is literally attached to your body. Plus with the amount of detentions snape gave harry it obviously was not going to go well. On that note instead of not looking at harry for the worst year of his life, maybe dumbledore could have told harry “voldemort is in your head and I don’t want to provoke him”. Instead, he was a butthole and made everything worse.
- Dumbledore was kind of lazy. He could have used the luck potion on slughorn. “nah harry you do it. also don’t talk to me until you do. have fun figuring that shit out”. And what if harry hadn’t won that potion?
- It’s kind of bitchy using snape’s love for lily to get him to do stuff. “remember her pretty eyes?, well she’s super dead and you basically killed her
- Through all this everyone forgets that harry is a FUCKING TEENAGER. I don’t know what you were like at 16 but I was as useless as spoon made out of water. Dumbledore had a year before he knew he was going to die. He probably could have helped harry out a little more instead of sending a 17 year old off to save the world and making sure he didn’t have any help apart from two other 17 year olds.
- When Dumbledore read harry’s name from the Goblet of Fire, wouldn’t he have noticed it was under the name of a different wizarding school that was not Beauxbetons or Durmstrang? Shouldn’t that have been a clue?
I probably have more but that’s all I can think of for now.
