Serial Killer Love Songs

After being forced to listen to the Fray and Coldplay and pretty much every boy band that whines about break ups I wanted to write something that honors 1. how creepy some of these lyrics are if they were sung by a pedophile, hannibal lector, or norman bates 2. What sort of love song would a serial killer sing? (I took forensic psychology, and her opening slide on the stalkers chapter was the lyrics to “Every Breath you Take” by the police” and 3. Change as little in the lyrics as possible.

I’m not saying this all doesn’t scream red flag but I LOVE HORROR MOVIES; and as a psych major am fascinated by serial killer pathology. Anyway, it got out of hand and below are lyrics and audio to everything

If you think there aren’t like 20 of these, you’re wrong. But I didn’t want to impose. If you’re nervous, I’m not crazy, I’m just bitter.

Original: “I’ll be seeing you”, Billie Holiday (1938)

My version:

Original Lyrics:

I’ll be seeing you

In all the old familiar places

That this heart of mine embraces

All day through

My Version:

I’ll be seeing you

From the tree in your backyard

Wherever you go near or far…

I’ll follow you

Original: “If I die young”, the band perry (2010)

My version:

Original Lyrics:

If I die young, bury me in satin

Lay me down on a bed of roses

Sink me in a river at dawn

Send me away with the words of a love song

My Version:

When you die young

I’ll bury you in satin

Lay you down on a bed of roses

Sink you in the river at dawn

Send you away with the words of our love song

(Scream)
