I never considered myself a poet, but through the desire to complete an English Minor, I had a lot of fun shaking things up in my various poetry courses. An excerpt from my introductory essay- to be viewed as an explanation to my collegiate professor

Prompt from my poetry course: How did you develop as a poet?

What defines growth?

If progression as a poet is characterized by an increase in skill level, syntax sophistication, basic understanding of the discipline itself, acceleration in grammatical wordplay, or achievement of clarity in through use and/or interpretation of the abstract, then I have failed here. That being said, I believe that any attempt is a feat in itself. Or so my mother tells me.
